What happens to my main number?

Your main number stays active. eSIM works as a second SIM card for internet only. You can still receive calls and SMS on your main number.

Can I top up data?

Top-up is possible for eSIM on package plans only, up to 10 times. For example: if you have a 1GB 7-day plan, you can add another 1GB 7-day extension. After the top-up, you will have 2GB for 14 days (1GB + 1GB = 2GB, 7 days + 7 days = 14 days). Each top-up adds to your current data and validity totals. Top-ups are available for eSIMs with "Issued" and "Active" status. After expiry, top-ups are no longer possible.

When does the validity period start?

Accepted Answer

Depends on the plan:
• Plans 1 GB and above — activate on first network connection in destination country
• Plans under 1 GB — activate immediately upon installation

Validity period starts from activation.

Question 5

I need calls, SMS, or a phone number

Accepted Answer

SimForTrip plans are designed for mobile internet. The eSIM may not have a phone number, and calls/SMS are usually not included. Use messengers over mobile data for calls.

Which phones support eSIM?

eSIM is supported by most modern smartphones: iPhone XS and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20+ and newer, Google Pixel 3+, Xiaomi 12T Pro+, and many other brands.

Question 7

The eSIM is installed, but there is no internet

Accepted Answer

Check that you are in the covered country, the eSIM is selected for mobile data, and Data Roaming is enabled for this eSIM. Then turn Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds, turn it off, and wait 2-3 minutes.

Question 8

The phone shows Activation Failed

Accepted Answer

On some devices, eSIM installation may show an activation failure message even after successful background activation. If the eSIM appears in Cellular/Mobile Service settings and has an On/Off toggle, activation was successful. If the eSIM is not listed, turn VPN off and try again. If VPN was already off, turn it on and repeat the installation once more.

Question 9

The Activation status does not disappear

Accepted Answer

This means the eSIM is currently searching for network signal. Check the status again in 20-60 minutes. Once the status changes to On/Off, activation is complete. If the eSIM remains in Activation for more than an hour, a simple phone restart usually solves it.

Question 10

The QR code is no longer valid

Accepted Answer

A QR code cannot be installed on multiple devices. If the profile was already added to another phone or deleted after installation, contact support with your order number so we can check the profile.

Question 11

Internet worked, then stopped

Accepted Answer

First toggle Airplane Mode for 30 seconds. If that does not help, select the network manually. iPhone: Settings → Cellular/Mobile Data → select the eSIM → Network Selection → turn Automatic off → wait for networks → choose an available operator. Android: Settings → SIM cards and mobile networks → select the eSIM → Network operators → turn Select automatically off → wait for search → choose an available operator.

Question 12

Top-up is active, but data does not work

Accepted Answer

A top-up applies to the eSIM profile that is already installed. Do not delete it. Check mobile data and roaming for this eSIM, then restart the connection with Airplane Mode or a phone reboot.
