How to install eSIM and get online during your trip

Important: before installation, check whether your device supports eSIM. Dial *#06# — if EID appears on the screen, eSIM is supported.

Setup

Choose your device

1

Open your eSIM after purchase

  1. Open the SimForTrip email or your account page.
  2. Find the purchased eSIM and the installation block.
  3. If the order is open on your iPhone, tap Install on iPhone.
  4. If the QR code is open on another device, open Camera on iPhone and scan the QR code.
  5. When iPhone shows a cellular plan prompt, tap it.
A stable internet connection is required for installation.
2

Confirm adding the eSIM

  1. On the Activate eSIM screen, tap Continue.
  2. Wait while iPhone downloads the eSIM profile.
  3. Do not close the setup screen or turn off internet until setup finishes.
  4. Confirm adding the cellular plan if iPhone asks for confirmation.
3

Name the eSIM clearly

  1. When iPhone offers to edit the line label, enter a clear name.
  2. For example: Japan eSIM, Turkey eSIM, or SimForTrip.
  3. This name will be shown later in cellular settings.
4

Keep your primary SIM for calls

  1. If iPhone asks which line to use by default, select your primary SIM.
  2. Keep your primary SIM for calls and SMS.
  3. The installed eSIM is only needed for cellular data.
5

Select eSIM for data during the trip

  1. When you arrive in the covered country, open Settings.
  2. Go to Cellular/Mobile Data.
  3. Tap Mobile Data.
  4. Select the installed eSIM, such as Japan eSIM or SimForTrip.
  5. Go back to Cellular/Mobile Data and open settings for this eSIM by tapping it.
6

Enable Data Roaming

  1. In the installed eSIM settings, find Data Roaming.
  2. Enable Data Roaming for this eSIM.
  3. Wait a few minutes while the phone connects to the partner network.
  4. If data does not appear right away, turn Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds, turn it off, and check again.
  5. If that does not help, restart the phone.
