eSIM not working? What to do?

A practical guide for common post-purchase eSIM issues and the quickest actions to get back online.

Can’t install eSIM

  1. Make sure the device is carrier-unlocked (no SIM lock).
  2. Confirm your model supports eSIM.
  3. You need a stable internet connection because eSIM profile is downloaded online.
  4. Check that firewall/filtering does not block the connection.
  5. Make sure the QR code was not activated on another device before.
Important

On some devices, activation may fail when installing via direct link. In some cases, the profile is still installed despite the error. Check your device SIM list for the new eSIM. If the eSIM was not installed, use the QR code instead.

No internet after activation

  1. Set the new eSIM as your mobile data line: Settings → Cellular/Mobile Data → Cellular Data → your eSIM.
  2. Make sure the eSIM is switched on.
  3. Enable data roaming for this eSIM.
  4. Check signal bars: bars mean tower connection; “No signal” means network attach is not complete yet.
  5. If there is no signal, restart your device.
  6. If signal exists but data does not work, try manual network selection.
  7. If internet still does not work after manual network selection, restart your device.
Important

First-time attach can take a few minutes up to an hour. Disable VPN temporarily and toggle eSIM Off/On.
