eSIM not working? What to do?

A practical guide for common post-purchase eSIM issues and the quickest actions to get back online.

Can’t install eSIM

  • Make sure the device is carrier-unlocked (no SIM lock).
  • Confirm your model supports eSIM.
  • You need a stable internet connection because eSIM profile is downloaded online.
  • Check that firewall/filtering does not block the connection.
  • Make sure the QR code was not activated on another device before.

No internet after activation

  1. Set the new eSIM as your mobile data line: Settings → Cellular/Mobile Data → Cellular Data → your eSIM.
  2. Make sure the eSIM is switched on.
  3. Enable data roaming for this eSIM.
  4. Check signal bars: bars mean tower connection; “No signal” means network attach is not complete yet.
  5. If there is no signal, restart your device.
  6. If signal exists but data does not work, try manual network selection.
Important

First-time attach can take a few minutes up to an hour. Disable VPN temporarily and toggle eSIM Off/On.

Data still shown, but internet does not work

Usage counters can be delayed. For exact balance, check your device counters: Settings → Cellular/Mobile Data → data usage.

Accidentally deleted eSIM

  • Do not remove eSIM before your package is fully used.
  • Try reinstalling with the original QR code.
  • If eSIM was already activated and then removed, a new eSIM is usually required.

Transfer to a new device

In most cases, an already activated eSIM cannot be transferred. If you switch devices before activation, installation on the new device is usually possible.
